Cheap Holidays Abroad from Holiday Supermarket
Is there anything more satisfying than sitting there, thinking, 'I need a break... I NEEEEEDD a break." And having one?
Holiday Supermarket makes it all too easy. Cheap last minute holidays are designed to give you all the choice in the world, with the flexibility of booking and doing it at the last minute. Have mouse will travel!
And the value is astounding, even though you've left it completely to the last minute! Properties run at their best when they're full and resorts, hotel chains and so on work hard to fill the rooms because their overheads are much the same whether there are 100 people or 200 people at the property per night. This means they offer tremendous value at the last minute simply to entice people in the door. Cheap holidays love the last minute booker!
How about the choices? In a nutshell, outstanding! If you fancy cheap holidays to Spain for example, you're well catered too. Go to Minorca or Majorca next week and soak up the sun in a 3 star, 4 star or 5 star resort. Majorca is always popular and no wonder with beaches like Alcudia providing such value for money. Alcudia is in the north of the island and is less of a party town than the frenetic southern spots. Parts of the old town (about 3 kilometres from the beach) date back to the year 1300 so a trip in on a cloudy afternoon is well worth it. Relax in one of the cafes or bars and soak up the atmosphere. The resort beach of Alcudia itself is delightful. The shallow calm waters are ideal for families with little ones and a full suite of water sports is available.
If you're a big believer in cheap holidays to Tenerife, then booking at the last minute is no problem. Tenerife, as the biggest and most popular of the Canary Islands easily caters for everyone. Again its size works in its favour because whether you're after the rock 'til dawn all-night bars or a quiet beach somewhere, Tenerife caters. San Cristóbal de La Laguna's laid-back colonial streets contrast with the port bustle of modern-day capital Santa Cruz in the east. If you're young or young at heart head to Playa de las Americas for slam shots, foam parties and karaoke bars. If you've young ones in tow, book within the broad, sandy bay of Los Cristianos and cool off under the volcano-like fountain. You'll love the palm-lined beachfront esplanade and the beach playgrounds. (Just perfect for that 6am wake up call!)
Cheap all inclusive holidays are easy to find and easy to book. Look to Greece for some quiet, all inclusive time in the sun. And for those who think Santorini is expensive, think again. This utterly captivating Aegean marvel is on a million postcards world wide for good reason. It is laid back and caters for everyone from surfers to the more mature visitor. While the beaches are not white sand (most are black shingle) they are still kept superbly clean and have all the facilities you would expect from a beach destination. Scuba diving is fabulous given how much of the island's coastline was carved out by volcanic eruption. The formations under water are amazing. Food is great for those who like to find where the locals go or make an effort to get away from the more touristy spots. You must watch the sunset from Santo Wines - it is less popular than Oia, but has the best view.
If you're looking for a very chill week in the sun, you can't go past Rhodes. Cheap package holidays are a Rhodes special, but cheap doesn't mean tacky. Rhodes has the best sunshine record of all the Mediterranean islands, so your break here is going to be bright, sunny and tan-terrific. Rhodes in a nutshell is all about clear, blue skies and soft, sandy bays. You'll find the interior is an easy drive and it's full of vineyards and olive groves around every turn. Make sure you visit the Old Town and spend a cloudy afternoon visiting an ancient ruin. This is the home of the Colossus of Rhodes after all. Bars? Plenty. Good restaurants? You'll never eat in them all! There are clubs, casinos and more. But best of all, Rhodes can cater for the party crowd as well as the 'I just need a break' crowd. From Faliraki's night scene to peaceful little Pefkos and lively, lovely Lindos. Take your pick, plan your week, and rock your world!
Of course we can't talk about cheap holidays abroad without talking about cheap holidays to Turkey. This magical carpet ride of a spot should be on everybody's bucket list because it simply has everything for everybody. From romantic ruins to stunning historical sites; from sparkling beaches, magnificent food and balmy spring and autumn temps, Turkey is up there with the best.
Bodrum is an exquisite place to visit; idyllic choice of beaches close by with plenty of excellent properties to choose from. The food is wonderful - just wait until you dine in one of the myriad cafes and coffee shops (you'll never look at a barbecue back home in the same way). Fresh fruit is everywhere and the local version of pizza is a taste sensation.
If history is your thing (apart from the beach), Bodrum is your town. Visit the castle of St Peter built by the Knights of St John in the 15th Century, hire a boat to take you from bay to bay and enjoy some great snorkelling. The water is crystal clear and warm so all you have to is get in it. Walk across to Rabbit Island and hike to the top of the hill. And finally, just relax on the beach. After all... you've a long time back home sitting at a desk!
